Reds Stadium - CopyPoor Pete Rose. For awhile, it looked as though 2015 might be the year when finallyâ??FINALLYâ??MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred would pardon the equal parts famous and infamous Cincinnati Red and restore him in the good graces of the League and clear a path to the Hall of Fame.
But weeks of waiting for a decision turned to months, and at least at the time of this writing, when the aroma of Thanksgiving feasts are heralding the advent of Advent and the beginning of the end of the yearâ??no smoke has come from Manfredâ??s chimney to clue the world in on his thinking.
Thatâ??s the thing about sports. Where there is opportunity for heroics, there is temptation for cutting the corner, noodling the numbers, doing the dope. And while fans will tsk-tsk about the players and teams who make the mess, that doesnâ??t mean they donâ??t enjoy reading about them.
